BCI honors Tom Hughes at Mardi Gras Gala; Event to raise awareness for Boone Center Foundation
(
PRAvenue) St. Louis, MO - The BCI Foundation Mardi Gras 2008 will honor Tom Hughes for his generous support of Boone Center over the
years. The grand celebration, dubbed "Behind the Mask," will be held from 6 to
10 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Windows Off Washington, 701 N. 15th St.,
10th Floor, St. Louis, MO.
Festive Attire is a must for this premier event which in "Fat Tuesday" style will include entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, dinner and dancing, and will benefit Boone Center Inc.
The Boone Center organization employs 220 adults with disabilities between its facility- and community-based employment opportunities
programs. "BCI is a win/win program where employees provide a quality service and receive a paycheck and a sense of pride in doing a job well," said Vicki White, executive director of BCI
Foundation. "The purpose of the Mardi Gras event is to invite guests to look 'Behind the Mask' to discover and celebrate the many successes of BCI."
White said many of the programs at Boone Center would not be possible without the generous support of honoree Tom
Hughes. "Tom Hughes will be recognized at 'Behind the Mask' for his years of contributions of time, talent and treasure to BCI," she
said.
UMB Bank will also be recognized at the event.
The French brought Mardi Gras to New Orleans in 1699. Early explorers celebrated this French holiday on the banks of the Mississippi River, and it has become known as a legendary party without
rival. Take a look behind the mask and you might be surprised at what you find.
Tickets are $100 per person or $800 for a table of
eight. For more information contact Vicki White at 636-978-4300 ext. 110 or vwhite@bcifoundation.org.
